It shifts the nuance of the Parker series, although admittedly, that's not going to work with every reader. It would be a terrible world if we all thought and enjoyed exactly the same things. But I have always admired Connelly for playing around with what he does (Look at BAD MEN, essentially a straight horror novel compared to what he was doing at the time). And that's also why I would have had great respect for Brookmyre with this new one even if I hadn't really dug it.Russelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08882590221382217329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119990365479009764.post-8333292050827019582009-08-21T08:43:54.725-05:002009-08-21T08:43:54.725-05:00I read THE BOOK OF LOST THINGS only because I'...I read THE BOOK OF LOST THINGS only because I'd read everything else by Connolly and never been disappointed, and because he was so committed to it in his blog. I loved it. it's a beautifully written book and a pleasure to read. My favorite book of his is still THE BLACK ANGEL, (with THE UNQUIET) close behind, but I'd gladly read TBOLT again.

I know everyone loves THE LOVERS, but for some reason it didn;t resonate with me like his others. I'm willing to blame that on me.Dana Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01350344882342624735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119990365479009764.post-63927108067909311722009-08-21T06:33:29.235-05:002009-08-21T06:33:29.235-05:00great review.
